HYPNOTHERAPY CENTER (209) 538-4014 CHRONIC DISEASES Chronic diseases and chronic conditions are often not responsive to western medicine. When
you think about it, it makes sense. All diseases, conditions and even accidents have some mental, emotional and psychological
components. Though they may or may not be appropriate for symptom treatment, drugs or surgery are simply not the best choice
for resolving mental, emotional and psychological needs (with rare exceptions). Now, we're not saying"It's all in your
mind." We're saying that whatever portion of your situation is due to mental factors will likely not be solved by drugs
or surgery. As far as relief from symptoms, hypnosis can provide some answers. Hypnosis can help you to gain control over
things like pain, swelling, blood flow and rate of healing-and the side effects are a sense of well-being, calmness and relaxation.
No treatment method can guarantee a complete cure but all-to-often we've seen people get results with hypnosis after multiple
surgeries or years of ingesting drugs. Perhaps for many of these people we can provide relief with other methods. If your
physician recommends drugs or surgery, ask if you have time to try something else first. If you've seen a physician, perhaps
you should consider hypnosis as a valuable non-drug, non-surgical treatment to add to your options. It makes sense to try
it first, with supervision of your doctor. Please feel free to call; (209) 538-4014
CHRONIC PAIN Chronic pain causes millions to suffer but how much of that suffering is necessary? Can hypnosis be used to give people
relief from chronic pain? The answer is yes! Hyopnosis and hypnotherapy have long been known as effective pain management
srategies. Hypnosis is a viable alternative to drug or surgical chronic pain treatments. Temporary relief can often be experienced
through direct suggestions for symptom relief. More permanent relief can sometimes be brought about by resolving emotional
or psychological issues connected to the situation. The unconscious mind uses pain to teach you. The pain is a message that
you need to learn something in order to avoid a particular situation. Until your unconscious feels that it has learned how
to avoid that type of situation (even if it wasn't your fault to begin with) it will keep serving up the pain. Once you understand
how to protect yourself better, the message has been delivered and that pain can stop. In many situations caused by accidents
or diseases this can result is up to an 80% permanent reduction in pain! As a side-effect these techniques sometimes result
is a diminishment of connected symptoms. We use specialized techniques designed to get your unconscious the learning it needs
and instruct your mind to let go of the pain that is no longer necessary. Very few people (including hypnotherapists) Know
these techniques. For the remainder of your pain and other symptoms, we'll teach you self-hypnosis. After learning self-hypnosis,
many people can learn to alleviate or reduce pain on their own-helping to give back more of a sense of control to their lives
(and saving money on expensive drugs and visits to the doctor). We'll leave you with a quote about the power of self-hypnosis.
"Strong evidence for the use of hypnosis in alleviating cancer pain was found by a scientific panel convened by the National
Institutes of Health. In one 10-year followup of 86 cancer patients, those who recieved self-hypnosis training along withgroup
therapy had 50% less pain and survived a year and a hlf longer than those who had routine medical care. Please call if you

INSOMNIA
by Kim Manning C.M.Ht. Insomnia has become an epidemic in our rapidly changing, stress-filled world. It
can be defined formally as a perceived disturbance of the usual sleep pattern, with one or more of these characteristics:
(1) inability to fall asleep, (2) inablility to maintain sleep, and (3) early awakening. One half of all Americans now say they have trouble sleeping, fifty percent more than eight years
ago. About 60 million Americans each year suffer from insomnia, which can lead to serious sleep deficits and problems. Insomnia
tends to increase with age and affects about 40 percent of women and 30 percent of men. Poor sleep impairs the ability to react creatively and appropriately to situations. It leaves
the sufferer tired, anxious, and emotionally unstable. Sleep disturbances can also do serious physical damage. Worry, depression, or simply noise can interfere with proper sleep. Excessive
worry doesn't allow the sufferer to enjoy the relaxation needed to go to sleep. Depressed people will often 'overdream,' leaving
them exhausted the next day. To prevent this overdreaming, the body will sometimes wake the sufferer before too much dreaming
has taken place- the so-called 'early-morning-waking' syndrome - leaving the victim without enough sleep. After insomnia has disturbed sleep for some days or weeks, sleep anxiety,
where the victim worries all day about the next night's sleep, can make a peaceful night even less likely. Though some cases of insomnia are caused by a medical problem, many
can be alleviated with behavioral changes, relaxation, and/or hypnotherapy. It is useful to talk about three types of insomnia:
transient, intermittent, and chronic. Insomnia lasting for a few days or weeks is referred to as transient.
If episodes of transient insomnia occur from time to time, the insomnia is said to be intermittent. Chronic insomnia occurs
on most nights and lasts a month or more. Transient
and intermittent insomnia are usually caused by temporary conditions like stress, anxiety, extreme temperatures,
a change in the environment, jet lag, a different work schedule, or a new medication. The causes of chronic insomnia
are more complex. A combination of factors may be at work, including underlying physical or mental disorders. Depression
is one of the most common causes of chronic insomnia. Other underlying causes include arthritis, sleep apnea, narcolepsy,
restless-leg syndrome, and hypertension. Past traumas or fears will often be hidden causes of chronic insomnia. Behavioral
factors, such as the misuse of caffeine, alcohol or other substances; the wake/sleep cycles upset by a change in work
or personal schedules; or emotional stress can also produce chronic insomnia. Relaxation Therapy for Transient and Intermittent Insomnia - There are specific and
effective techniques that can reduce or eliminate anxiety and body tension. As a result, the person's mind is able to
stop "racing," the muscles can relax, and restful sleep can occur. Self-hypnosis helps the sufferer to disconnect
from an overactive intellect while resting. A qualified hypnotherapist can teach self-hypnosis in one session. Hypnotherapy For Chronic Insomnia - Hypnotherapy can uncover
and address the core issues that underlie the insomnia. A qualified hypnotherapist can help reduce significantly
or eliminate completely most forms of insomnia. Hypnotherapy addresses the subconscious mind where all memory lies. It
is the subconscious part of the mind that controls and determines the behavior of insomnia. It is also through the subconscious
mind that new behaviors can replace old habits, allowing positive and beneficial changes to occur. If you have any questions

STRESS REDUCTION Hypnosis has long been found valuable for stress reduction and as a relaxation technique. The hypnotic trance is by itself,
a wonderfully relaxing and calming experience. Everyone has some stress, nervousness and anxiety in their lives. In America
hypertension (high blood pressure) is epidemic. Anxiety and stress reactions are mostly "automatic" responses to
the thoughts we think-not the actual situations around us. What if your mind could, just as automatically begin to think calming
relaxing thoughts-not in a Pollyanna way, but in a way that could actually help you resolve the situation. You see, stress
and anxiety are only necessary to the extent that they help us solve our problems. Whenever your are more relaxed, you can
think more clearly. Let hypnosis help you to do this just as automatically as you felt stressed before. Call us: (209) 538-4014
Healing Trauma Healing of past trauma can be accomplished through hypnosis. During a hypnotic trance
you can safely, from a distance, go back and view old traumatic events with a new perspective. Re-processing these events
"takes the sting" out of them. If done correctly, after a hypnotic review of a past traumatic event, you will still
recall the event, it just won't seem as emotionally charged to you. Even extreme trauma such a rape, war-time memories, incest,
molestations or witnessing a murder as a child can be resolved by these means. Do you have an issue or past experience that
is interfering with your day-to-day life? Isn't it past time to get it taken care of? Wouldn't it be nice to have the weight
off your shoulders? There are several Hypnotherapeutic techniques that can help. Give a call: (209) 538-4014 - let's choose
the best technique for you.
Test Anxiety Test anxiety can cause fear to well up and anxious
feelings during a key test, examination or performance situation. While a small amount of nervousness is natural and may even
help you perform better, test anxiety actually limits the amount of information available to the brain. While experiencing
test anxiety your mind may believe it's in a "fight or flight" situation. In these types of situations your mind
is designed to shut down all unnecessary thoughts and focus on one thing - getting out of your situation immediately or attacking
whatever danger or perceived danger is present. While this works fine for saber-tooth tigers it's not very helpful in the
test-taking arena. Let us help your mind to understand at all levels that this is a safe situation. Your mind is very powerful
and just as it can limit your access to information, it can expand your access to information. Allow us to help you have access
to all your resources while comfortably taking a test. Please call if you have any questions: (209) 538-4014
